Allocations for ministries announced

KOTA KINABALU: The State Government prioritises the well-being of the people, and they have formulated strategies to protect their lives. The 2024 State Budget themed "SABAH STRONG, PEOPLE PROTECTED" aims to safeguard the well-being of the people through continuous development programmes.


The State Government proposes a surplus budget of RM35.87 million, with a Supply Expenditure Estimate of RM5.701 billion and a State Revenue Estimate of RM5.737 billion, Finance Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said in his Sabah State Budget 2024 speech in the State Legislative Assembly today.


The 2024 Budget is prepared with the allocation of Supply Expenditure and Development Estimates according to ministries. The Ministry of Finance is allocated RM2.48 billion for supply, RM5 million for development while the Ministry of Works is allocated RM1.03 billion for supply, RM689.66 million for development.


The Chief Minister's Department is allocated RM712.64 million for supply, RM177.83 million for development, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry is allocated RM363.91 million for supply, RM189.16 million for development, while Sabah Rural Development Ministry is allocated RM82.67 million for supply, RM144.50 million for development.


Meanwhile the Ministry of Local Government and Housing is allocated RM184.71 million for supply, RM25.32 million for development, the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation is allocated RM180.13 million for supply, RM9.15 million for development and the Ministry of Community Development and People's Well-being is allocated RM148.82 million for supply, RM16.54 million for development.


The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Environment is allocated RM120.87 million for supply, RM21.04 million for development, the Sabah Ministry of Youth and Sports is allocated RM88.67 million for supply, RM11.5 million for development and the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship is allocated RM26.11 million for supply, RM38 million for development.
