ANAK NEGERI Congratulates GRS on Sabah Election Victory

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (ANAK NEGERI) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and its Chairman, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Noor, on their victory in the recent Sabah State General Election 2025.

In a press statement issued today, ANAK NEGERI said it fully endorses the formation of the new GRS government with Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Noor as the Chief Minister.

ANAK NEGERI President Datuk Henrynus Amin stated that they respect the outcome of the election, which saw GRS secure the most seats, winning 29 out of the 73 contested.

“The people have spoken, and their decision reflects their choice for continuity and stability in the state's leadership.

“ANAK NEGERI respects the democratic process and the clear mandate given to GRS to form the next state government,” Henrynus said.

Reflecting on the election results, Henrynus acknowledged the strength of the winning coalition. He noted that the victory of GRS, winning 29 seats despite a crowded and fiercely contested election, was a testament to its established political machinery.

“GRS is an established political brand, highly organised, and possesses huge resources at their disposal. Considering this, their win is not surprising,” he added.

“Their ability to manage and command a plurality of seats in a challenging political landscape is commendable,” he said in the statement.

Henrynus conceded that ANAK NEGERI once again lost in all the seats it contested. He emphasised that the party will now undertake a thorough and objective analysis of the election results.

“We will go back to the drawing board to reassess our performance, revisit our strategies, and reconnect with our grassroots support to strengthen the party moving forward,” he said.

He reaffirmed that ANAK NEGERI remains committed to its core 5-point agenda of championing the rights and welfare of the people of Sabah, especially the Anak Negeri (natives) of Sabah.

ANAK NEGERI also wished the new GRS state government well in steering Sabah towards greater development and prosperity over the next five years.

To offer constructive input, the party will formally submit a memorandum to the GRS government outlining key policy concerns and proposals based on its manifesto.

Parti ANAK NEGERI reiterated its commitment to continuing its role in the political sphere, advocating for the genuine needs of Sabahans and upholding the democratic principles of the state.
