KOTA KINABALU: The annual education grants for schools within the Penampang parliamentary constituency and the Kadamaian state constituency will continue in 2026.
Penampang Member of Parliament and Kadamaian State Assemblyman, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the allocation reflects ongoing commitment to ensuring that primary and secondary schools, including those offering Special Education Programmes, continue to receive the necessary support to improve educational standards and learning facilities.
Ewon, the Deputy Chief Minister III, who also serves as Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport said, “Since being given the mandate as Penampang MP, every Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of primary and secondary schools in this district has received annual education funding, including additional assistance for schools requiring immediate support, such as the aid previously channelled to SK St. Joseph."

“The same initiative is also being implemented in Kadamaian, and these annual grants will continue to be provided to all schools there,” he said.
Ewon made the remarks when officiating the SK St. Joseph Penampang Graduation Ceremony here today.
He reiterated that support for educational institutions will remain a priority, not only through annual allocations but also through continuous collaboration with schools and the wider education community.
He also expressed appreciation to teachers and parents for their dedication in safeguarding the educational development and character-building of students, which he said forms the foundation of Penampang’s excellence.
“I wish to record my highest appreciation to the teachers and parents who ensure that our children receive proper education and continue contributing to the excellence of their schools and to Penampang,” he said.
Ewon also advised students to continue strengthening their character, showing respect to teachers and family, and preparing for the future with discipline, determination and good values that are essential to personal and academic success.
“Hopefully, ten years from now, each of these 88 pupils will return as university graduates with their own degrees,” he added.
A total of 88 Year Six pupils received their graduation certificates at the ceremony.
