KOTA KINABALU: Liawan State Assemblyman and Chairman of Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman, attended the opening day of the Second Meeting of the Fifth Term of the 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly, which commenced today.
Annuar was among several representatives from Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR Sabah) present at the sitting, alongside the party’s President and Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, as well as fellow party members Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin (Sook), Datuk Flovia Ng (Tulid), and Datuk Abidin Madingkir (Paginatan).
The two-day Assembly sitting features the presentation and debate of various key issues affecting the people of Sabah, including rural infrastructure, technical education, and the welfare of interior communities.
Annuar, known since the beginning of his term for a leadership style grounded in action, remains committed to raising issues that concern rural constituents, particularly those in Liawan, ensuring they are not sidelined in the state’s development agenda.
Speaking after the morning session, he emphasised that his attendance was more than a formal duty, it was a clear signal that grassroots voices must be heard at the highest level of state governance.
"Each time I step into this Assembly, I carry with me the hopes and mandate of the people of Liawan, who are yearning for change, development, and justice. We are not here merely to deliver speeches, but to drive real solutions,” he said briefly.
The sitting is expected to conclude tomorrow, with focus on supplementary budget allocations and development proposals ahead of the looming 17th Sabah State Election.
