SANDAKAN: Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong Shir Yee donated packages of frozen meat and food to media practitioners celebrating Hari Raya Aidil Adha in the district.
The donation was handed over by Asrul Abdul Samat, Sandakan Parliamentary Liaison Officer, representing Vivian, at a brief ceremony held in Bandar Letat, Sandakan, on Tuesday.
Among other things, the donation serves as appreciation for the media's role in disseminating information to the community.
It is also her party's annual programme as a sign of concern for the welfare of the media, who are consistently committed to carrying out their duties, particularly in covering various community and local development programmes.
Besides media practitioners, the packages were also distributed to several village areas, housing estates, islands, and volunteers who have greatly assisted community programmes in the area.
At the same time, the Sandakan Parliamentary People's Service Centre also donated five oxen to five mosques within the parliamentary constituency to carry out the korban (sacrificial) ibadah in conjunction with Aidil Adha.
Similar programmes will continue as an effort to assist those in need while recognising the contributions of all parties who have greatly contributed to community development.

It's heartwarming to see our local MP taking the initiative to support media practitioners and communities during Aidil Adha. This gesture truly reflects the spirit of community service. For more stories like this, check out scritchy scratchy.
