Assemblyman Urges Public to Stay Safe Amid Hot Weather

KOTA KINABALU: Api Api Assemblyman Loi Kok Liang has advised the public, urging residents, visitors and tourists in Api-Api to take extra precautions as hot weather conditions persist.
In a statement today, Loi emphasised the importance of safeguarding personal health during the ongoing heat, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
“With the current hot weather, I would like to advise all residents of Api-Api as well as visitors and tourists to take extra care of their health."
" Please stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take the necessary precautions,” he said.
He added that community vigilance is essential during this period, encouraging people to look out for one another.
“Api-Api is our home, and your safety and well-being are always my priority. I urge everyone to look out for one another during this period,” he said.
Loi also extended a warm welcome to tourists, who usually throng to the city centre for sightseeing and shopping .
He reminded them to remain mindful of the heat.
“To our visitors, welcome to Api-Api. Please enjoy our city while staying safe in this hot weather,” he added.
The advisory comes as temperatures across parts of Sabah continue to rise, prompting health reminders from authorities to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
