BANK MUAMALAT EMPLOYEE IN KOTA KINABALU TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has confirmed that one of its employee at the Kota Kinabalu branch has been tested positive for COVID-19 and is now under the care of a government hospital.
The bank said as a precautionary measure, all co-workers who have been in direct contact with the said employee have been asked to self-quarantine by staying at home for the next 14 days, until given the appropriate medical clearance.
“Contact tracing is also underway in line with the Health Ministry’s guidelines. The branch, located at the Aeropod Commercial Square, Jalan Kepayan in Kota Kinabalu has been closed to enable thorough sanitisation and cleaning procedures to be carried out,” it said in a statement yesterday.
Meanwhile, the bank said in view of the federal government’s announcement to reimpose the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya for two weeks, starting tomorrow, the operating hours of all Bank Muamalat branches in the affected areas have been revised to 9.15 am-3 pm, effective today.
“To mitigate possible health risks due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Souq Al-Bukhary, Alor Setar, and Sandakan branches will also operate from 9.15 am to 3 pm,” it added. - Bernama
