KUALA LUMPUR: Batik Air has successfully renewed its International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, which is valid until 3 June 2027.
In a statement today, Batik Air said the certification reaffirms its continued commitment to upholding high standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
“This renewal reflects our continued commitment to meeting and exceeding global aviation safety standards,” it said, adding that the certification was granted following a comprehensive audit conducted under IATA’s enhanced Risk-Based Audit (RBA) framework.
The airline said the IOSA certification sets global benchmarks for aviation safety and operational efficiency by assessing an airline’s systems and procedures against a comprehensive set of harmonised standards and recommended practices.
Batik Air also outlined that the IOSA audit encompasses eight critical areas of operation: organisation and management systems, flight operations, operational control and dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, ground handling, cargo operations, and aviation security.
Chief Executive Officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said safety remains central to every aspect of Batik Air’s operations.
“At Batik Air, safety isn’t just a standard, it is our promise. It is the foundation of our operations and the core of our identity,” he said.
He added that the renewal not only highlights the airline’s internal culture of discipline, accountability and professionalism, but also provides confidence to passengers..
“For our passengers, this certification offers not only reassurance, but also peace of mind. Whether flying domestically or internationally, they can trust that every Batik Air flight is supported by robust safety protocols, seamless coordination and operational precision,” he said.
The airline also said it will continue expanding its regional and international network while maintaining its commitment to safe, reliable, and comfortable air travel
“Passengers flying with Batik Air can look forward to a travel experience built on industry best practices, a modern fleet, and an unwavering culture of safety,” it said.
