SANDAKAN: Former Gum-Gum State Assemblyman, Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris JP, today officiated the Ramah Mesra (Community Engagement) Programme and the presentation of Food Aid Baskets.

During the programme, Zakaria distributed essential goods to eligible asnaf families with the aim of easing their daily burden.

He emphasised that such charitable efforts must be carried out consistently to ensure that no vulnerable group is left without care and community support.

“We want to make sure that no family is neglected, especially those from low-income backgrounds. Cooperation between the government and the community is vital to ensure these groups are properly supported,” he said.

The programme provided tangible assistance to recipient families and strengthened ties between leaders and local residents, fostering a spirit of harmony within the community.
