Chief Justice conferred the title Tun

KOTA KINABALU: The chairman of the Sabah Farmers’ Organisation (Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Sabah, PPNS), Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah, has extended his warmest congratulations to the Chief Justice, Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, on being awarded the Darjah Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM), which carries the honorific title “Tun”, in conjunction with the Official Birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim for 2026.

He said the conferment of the nation’s highest honour is a highly prestigious recognition of Wan Ahmad Farid’s service, leadership and contributions towards strengthening the judiciary and upholding the rule of law in the country.

“On behalf of PPNS, the Board of Directors and all staff of Sabah Farmers’ Organisation, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, who is also a close friend, on this meaningful recognition."

“This award reflects the nation’s appreciation for his commitment, integrity and authority in leading the judiciary and ensuring that justice is upheld for the people and the country,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Nazri also prayed that Tun Wan Ahmad Farid be granted continued health, strength and wisdom in carrying out his duties as Chief Justice, so as to further bolster public confidence in the country’s legal and judicial system.

Wan Ahmad Farid was the sole recipient of the Darjah Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM), which carries the title “Tun”, in the list of federal honourees for 2026 announced in conjunction with the Official Birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim on 1 June 2026.
