KOTA KINABALU: Inanam’s commitment to community safety and unity was reaffirmed today as the Deputy Chairman of the Neighbourhood Hood Watch Committee (KRT) emphasised the critical role of cooperation between the KRT and the Police during a community programme held in the town.

In his address, the Deputy Chairman Fardy Bungga stressed that the partnership between KRT Inanam and the Inanam Police Station serves as a central pillar in strengthening local security efforts.

He noted that the police have consistently provided guidance, safety briefings, and hands-on involvement in community-based initiatives, contributions that have helped foster a more safe, harmonious, and resilient neighbourhood.

“This cooperation is not merely symbolic; it is the backbone of our efforts to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our residents,” he said, acknowledging the presence of the Inanam Police Chief and representatives from the Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN).

“Their active engagement demonstrates a shared commitment to protecting and uplifting the community.”

He further highlighted that the success of various community programmes—including health activities, gotong-royong clean-up campaigns, and unity-focused initiatives, was made possible through the close collaboration between KRT members, government agencies, and local residents.

Fardy The also praised JPNIN for its continuous support and guidance in strengthening social cohesion.

He reiterated that maintaining strong ties between community groups and law enforcement is crucial in preserving peace and preventing issues before they arise.

He urged residents, including the younger generation, to continue supporting KRT initiatives and to uphold the spirit of cooperation that defines the Inanam community.

The event concluded with a call for sustained unity and joint responsibility in building a safer, more cohesive Inanam, proving that effective collaboration between the KRT and the police remains essential to the town’s progress.
