Community Service fosters solidarity

KOTA BELUD: A premier Gotong Royong (community service) programme was held successfully in Kg. Sayap, driven by the collaborative efforts of the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) along with the Kg. Sayap Neighborhood Watch (KRT), the Kg. Sayap Youth Club, as well as the Cleanliness and Beautification Committee of Kg. Sayap.

Community Development Officer UPPM Clarence Somuil, along with Rizoh Basirong, the Special Tasks Officer 2 from the N11 Kadamaian Assemblyman’s Service Centre, represented Member of Parliament Datuk Ewon Benedick at this significant event.

During the programme, the representatives actively interacted with local traders, emphasising the importance of supporting small businesses in the area.

A vibrant array of products from local entrepreneurs was showcased, including fresh vegetables, an assortment of traditional snacks (kuih muih), and essential grocery items, highlighting the diverse offerings of the Kg. Sayap Woriu community.

In recognition of the vital role played by local traders, contributions were made to Wevie Taising, the chairman of the Kg. Sayap Small Traders’ Association.

This gesture was made on behalf of Ewon and the N11 Kadamaian Assemblyman’s Service Centre, reinforcing the commitment to uplift and empower the local economy while strengthening community ties.

This event exemplified the shared vision of fostering a thriving and supportive environment for all residents of Kg. Sayap Woriu.
