KOTA KINABALU: Students staying in hostels are required to undergo Covid-19 screening to curb the possibility of Covid-19 spread in school hostels.

In this regard, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the Sabah State Health Department has instructed all Division Health Offices and District Health Offices with the assistance of the District Education Office to conduct Covid-19 screening tests on hostel students.

"All hostel students who will sit for their exams are encouraged to undergo the Covud-19 screening test in accordance with the initiative taken by Ministry of Health (MoH)," he told a press conference here, today.

Hostel students are allowed to return to the hostel from Jan 16 to enable them to attend school sessions which will start on Jan 20.

Masidi said students are allowed to return to the hostel in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) that has been enforced.
