COVID-19: 2,593 NEW NATIONWIDE INFECTIONS TODAY

PUTRAJAYA: Another daily high of new Covid-19 cases were recorded today - 2,593 cases - bringing the total of nationwide infections to 125,438. Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, of the new cases, four are imported while the rest are local cases. Four new deaths were also recorded today with two in Sabah, one each in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The total of nationwide Covid-19 fatalities now added up to 513. A total of 1,129 patients have recovered and were discharged from the hospital, bringing the tally to 100,582. The active cases to date stand at 24,347. To date, a total of 141 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 67 of them requiring ventilation support.
