COVID-19: 263 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS IN SABAH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded a slight decrease of new daily Covid-19 cases with 263 today, compared with 288 cases yesterday.


State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the latest addition brought the cumulative number of cases in the state to 48,570.


"Two deaths were also reported overnight, one in Kudat and another in Sandakan.


“A total of 414 Covid-19 patients in Sabah have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries in the state to 44,821 people.


“A total of 2,328 patients are receiving treatment, with 733 in hospitals, 1,572 in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, and 23 in temporary detention centres/prisons.


“There are 95 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 27 intubated currently,“ he said in a statement here, today.


Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases with 44, followed by Lahad Datu (43), Sandakan (22), Putatan (21), Tawau (20), Penampang (17), Tuaran (13), Keningau (12), and Papar (11)

Meanwhile, other districts that recorded single-digit new cases include Ranau with eight cases, Kinabatangan (eight), Kota Belud (seven), Semporna (six), Kudat (five), Kota Marudu (five), Tongod (five), Kunak (four), Kuala Penyu (four), Kalabakan (four), Beluran (two), Pitas (one) and Nabawan (one).


Five districts did not record any new case today, namely Beaufort, Tenom, Sipitang, Telupid and Tambunan.
