COVID-19: 617 ACTIVE CASES IN SABAH AS OF SUNDAY

KOTA KINABALU: As of Sunday, Sabah has a total of 617 active Covid-19 cases, with 237 individuals treated at hospitals and the rest in quarantine centres.
Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said 31 of the patients are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 21 of them requiring ventilator support.
Meanwhile, 61 new cases were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 58,857.
"Kota Kinabalu and Kalabakan each have 10 new cases while Kunak has nine cases, six in Tawau, five in Penampang, three cases each in Putatan, Tuaran and Beaufort; two cases each in Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Kota Belud and Semporna; and one case each in Papar, Kinabatangan, Keningau and Ranau.
"Of the total, 30 were detected through close contact screening, 25 in existing clusters, three through symptomatic screening, and the rest from other categories," he said in a statement today.
For recoveries, a total of 71 patients have been discharged today, bringing the tally of recoveries in Sabah to 57,668.
