COVID-19: SABAH HAS 17 RED ZONES AS OF JUNE 4

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 17 districts out of 27 have been declared as Covid-19 red zones as of today.
The number includes Kinabatangan district which has just been added to the list after turning red from orange.
The other red zones are Tawau, Kudat, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Belud, Putatan, Papar, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Penampang, Semporna, Tuaran, Keningau, Kuala Penyu, and Beaufort.
Tenom is registered as an orange zone while Telupid, Nabawan, Sipitang, Ranau, Kota Marudu, and Pitas.
For now, the only districts that are Covid-free are Tambunan, Tongd, and Beluran.
The cumulative total of Covid-19 cases in Sabah has surged to 63,306 with 287 new cases reported today, said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun.
"Of the total, 152 cases were close contacts, while 54 cases were detected through symptomatic screening, 52 through targeted screening, 18 through cluster screening, and the rest are from other categories.
"The number of active cases now stands ar 1,674 with 477 treated at hospitals and the rest in quarantine centres," he said in a statement today.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 83 with 25 of them requiring ventilator support."
However, 246 discharges were reported today, bringing the tally of recoveries in Sabah to 60,612.
Unfortunately, three Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in Sabah today, all three in Tawau.
