COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 286 NEW CASES, FOUR DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 286 new Covid-19 cases, maintaining its 200 cases trend, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 73,136.


Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, said four new deaths related to the virus were also recorded today with one each in Tawau, Sandakan, Lahad Datu and Kota Kinabalu.


“Of the total cases, 134 were detected through close contact screening, while 46 were detected through targeted screening, 44 through cluster screening, 40 through symptomatic screening and 22 from other categories.


To date, there is only two green zone left which are Tenom, and Telupid districts while 15 districts have been declared red zones, five orange zone and five yellow zones.


"The number of active cases now stands at 2,079 with 425 treated at hospitals, 1,612 in quarantine centres and 42 in temporary detention centres.


"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 60 with 13 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.


As for recoveries, a total of 284 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 70,183.
