COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 335 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 335 new Covid-19 cases with, a decrease of 43 cases compared to yesterday’s 378 thus bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 66,043.


Sabah's official Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said, two new deaths were also reported today each one in Tawau and Lahad Datu


Of the total cases, 170 stemmed from close contacts while 102 from clusters screening, 26 from symptomatic screening, 17 from targeted screening and 20 from other categories.


“Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases today with 49 followed by Tuaran (35), Lahad Datu (32), Papar (27), Tawau and Penampang (21), Kudat and Kota Belud (19), Beaufort (18), Putatan (16), Nabawan (13), Kinabatangan (12), Tongod (10), Sandakan (nine), Telupid (eight), Sipitang (seven), Semporna (five), Kunak (four), Keningau, Ranau, and Kota Marudu (three), and Kalabakan (one).


“Meanwhile, districts that did not record any cases today are Pitas, Tambunan, Kuala Penyu, Tenom and Beluran,” he said in a statement today.


Masidi stated a total of 329 patients have recovered today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 62,846.


"A total of 2,044 patients are still under treatment with 520 in hospitals, and 1,524 in quarantine centres.


"101 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 41 of them requiring ventilator support,” he added.
