COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 348 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah registered a total of 348 new Covid-19 cases today and with the latest addition, the cumulative total of Covid-19 infections recorded in the state now stands at 47,139.


In a statement today, Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said Kota Kinabalu reported the highest number with 64 cases, followed by Tawau (60 cases), Sandakan (34 cases), Lahad Datu (33 cases), Papar (26 cases), Keningau (22 cases), Kudat (21 cases), Penampang (16 cases), Kunak (15 cases), Kinabatangan (13 cases), and Kota Belud (11 cases).


Meanwhile, districts that only reported single-digit new cases are Putatan with six cases, Tuaran (five cases), Beluran (five cases), Sipitang (four cases), Beaufort (three cases), Telupid (three cases), Tambunan (two cases), Kuala Penyu (two cases), Kota Marudu (one case), Ranau (one case) and Nabawan (one case).


A total of five districts did not report any new cases today, namely Semporna, Pitas, Kalabakan, Tongod and Tenom.


Three new Covid-19 deaths were also recorded today - two in Sandakan and one in Beaufort.


Today, he said a total of 400 patients have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the tally of recoveries in Sabah to 42,806.


This leaves a total of 2,678 cases that are still currently active, with 832 patients being treated in the hospital, 1,827 at the Quarantine and Low-Risked Treatment Centres, and 19 at the temporary detention centres.


"The total of patients being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 91 persons, and 23 persons require ventilator support," he said.
