COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 651 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: The Covid-19 cases in Sabah today still records a staggering 651 case, maintaining the 600 cases trend in the past few days, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 75,762.


Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, two more deaths were also recorded today with one each in Kota Kinabalu and Sipitang.


Of the total, clusters in Sabah contributed the highest number of cases today with 372, followed by

177 through contact screening, 44 through symptomatic screening, 43 through targeted screening and 15 from other categories.


To date, there is only two green zone left which are Tambunan and Tenom districts while 17 districts have been declared red zones, four orange zone and four yellow zones.


"The number of active cases now stands at 3,322 with 467 treated at hospitals, 1,953 in quarantine centres and 902 in temporary detention centres.


"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 57 with 12 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.


As for recoveries, a total of 231 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 71,463.
