COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 657 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 657 new Covid-19 cases where most of the cases originated from the prison clusters, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 76,453,
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, two deaths were also recorded today with one each in Kota Belud and Tawau.
Of the total, 317 were detected through cluster screening, while 199 were detected through close contact screening, 71 through symptomatic screening, 47 through targeted screening and 23 from other categories.
To date, there is only one green zone left which is Tambunan, while 17 districts have been declared red zones, four orange zone and five yellow zones.
"The number of active cases now stands at 3,486 with 502 being treated at hospitals, 1,970 in quarantine centres and 59 in temporary detention centres.
"The number of patients currently treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 59 with 13 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.
As for recoveries, a total of 285 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 71,748.
