PENAMPANG: Seven agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) have contributed nearly RM200,000 in corporate social responsibility (CSR) aid to flood and landslide victims in Sabah.

Its Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the assistance, which includes food baskets, medicines and other daily necessities such as disposable nappies, has begun to be distributed to recipients in Penampang, Kadamaian and Papar.

“Part of the aid will be delivered today and the rest will be distributed in phases until all 1,907 recipients have received their share,” he said here today.

“I truly appreciate the initiative and care shown by all agencies under MEDC in carrying out their CSR programmes in Sabah,” he said.

According to Ewon, TEKUN Nasional channelled RM50,000 worth of assistance to 500 families in Penampang and Papar, including TEKUN entrepreneurs affected by the disaster. SKM contributed 400 food baskets in Penampang and 160 in Kadamaian, valued at RM56,000.
