KOTA KINABALU: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) candidate for N22 Tanjung Aru, Dennison R. Indang, has pledged principled and community-centred leadership, saying voters deserve a representative who is grounded in local realities rather than external agendas.

Speaking ahead of the state election, Dennison said his commitment to Tanjung Aru, Sembulan, and Pulau Gaya is anchored in the “Sabah First” Agenda , prioritising the voices, rights, and interests of the people.

“Why should Tanjung Aru choose me? Because I’m not here with an external agenda. I’m here with the Sabah First agenda, the voices, rights, and interests of our people,” he said.

He stressed that he is not a “seasonal candidate”, noting that his work in the constituency began long before campaign season.

“I’ve been working on the ground long before campaigns. I know what’s realistic, and what’s political fiction,” he said.

Dennison also emphasised honesty and accountability in his campaign, assuring voters that he would not resort to exaggerated or impossible promises.

“I won’t promise the moon and stars. I promise hard work, integrity, and the courage to say ‘no’ to any project that harms the people of Tanjung Aru, Sembulan, and Pulau Gaya,” he said.

He added that his focus, if elected, will be on practical solutions, responsible development, and ensuring that community needs remain at the centre of government decision-making.

UPKO has positioned Dennison as part of its broader push for principled leadership and the advancement of the “Sabah First” agenda across the state.
