TUARAN: The public should not to be influenced by unverified stories circulating on social media.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor said that with the upcoming election, numerous falsehoods are being spread across various online platforms.
“Do not make the wrong choice. The current State Government has achieved much in advancing Sabah’s development through strategic planning in education, tourism, and its collaboration with Petronas to increase state revenue."
“This election presents a significant challenge and a golden opportunity for the people to choose a government that is not only responsive to their needs but also rooted in local aspirations,” he said.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the BBKWDDP Lotud Cultural Festival at Hone Hall, IPGM Kent, the Chief Minister stated that, under the GRS administration, substantial support has been extended to students from Sabah.
He pointed out that, for the first time, assistance has been provided to Sabah students studying in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as to local students returning home for major festive occasions.
“We want to help ease the burden on our students,” he added.
Hajiji also highlighted growing investment in Sabah, noting that the Sabah Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP) in Sipitang is now fully occupied.
The most recent development, he said, involves a Singapore-based company investing a total of RM19.5 billion in three phases. The first phase alone is expected to create around 8,000 jobs.
“This reflects our aspiration to generate employment opportunities for the people of Sabah,” he said.
The Chief Minister also commended the organisers of the BBKWDDP Lotud Cultural Festival for their efforts in preserving the culture and traditions of the Lotud community.
“The State Government fully supports initiatives that reinforce cultural values and empower youth through heritage and cultural activities,” he said.
Hajiji reaffirmed his hope that the Dusun Lotud people will continue progressing and be on equal footing with other communities in the state.
The BBKWDDP Lotud Cultural Festival involved participation from seven villages: Batangan, Barus, Korompitut, Wokok, Dungang 1, Dungang 2, and Pendam.
