Educational and Healthcare Initiatives Prioritised for the People of Liawan

KENINGAU: Efforts to enhance community well-being continue to be a central focus for Liawan.


In this respect, a series of contributions towards healthcare and educational advancement, has been accorded to the people there by State Assemblyman, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman.


These contributions were presented by Mohamad Raihan Jinode, Operations Assistant at the Liawan Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) Office, on behalf of Annuar during a brief yet meaningful session held at the UPPM Liawan Office yesterday.

Among the recipients was the Organising Committee of the Bukit Langsat Concert from the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) Keningau Campus. The concert is being held in celebration of the 40th Ruby Jubilee of IPG Keningau. The contribution was received by Albert Mark Maguring, Head of the Indigenous Pedagogy Department at the institute.


Another beneficiary was Tabika Perpaduan Dangulad B Keningau, which received support to help fund an Integration Visit to Melaka, set to be attended by teachers and accompanying officers. The contribution was accepted by Viviancy Joneh, a representative of the coordinating committee.


The Association of Healthcare Assistants at the Keningau District Health Office also received support for the upcoming Upper Interior Sabah Healthcare Assistant Day 2025, scheduled to take place on 7 November at Sabindo Khin Sang Spring Water Resort. The contribution was received by Ms Ervinna Benjamin, Chairperson of the Organising Committee.

Two promising students were also given motivational support. Effy Umairah Abdullah will be pursuing a Diploma in Medical and Health Sciences at the Ministry of Health Malaysia Training Institute (ILKKM) in Kota Kinabalu. Santi Martinus, who has been offered a place to study for a Diploma in Nursing at ILKKM Sandakan, was also among the recipients.


All recipients were present to formally receive their contributions, which serve as a gesture of support and encouragement from Datuk Annuar, aimed at empowering local youth and strengthening the social and healthcare sectors in rural areas.


“This is what real leadership looks like, action, not just promises. Supporting the people is the heartbeat of our struggle,” said his representative, Mohamad Raihan.
