PENAMPANG: The role of the WRS Four Wheel Drive Club in carrying out disaster relief missions in the state is highly commendable.
The Deputy Chief Minister III, who is also the Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said he greatly appreciates the role played by the WRS Four Wheel Drive Club in implementing disaster relief efforts in the state.
Ewon, who is also the club’s Honorary Patron, stated that WRS is among the organisations actively involved in community activities, particularly in delivering aid to disaster victims.

“As the Honorary Patron and a member of this club, I am proud that it has been extensively involved in community activities, especially in disaster relief missions."
“In recognition of its responsibility and continued support, I am contributing RM20,000 from the minister’s special allocation to support the club’s activities,” he said.
He made these remarks while officiating at the club’s 11th Annual General Meeting and Dinner held here yesterday.
Ewon also congratulated Thomson Teo on his re-election as the club’s President, along with the newly appointed top committee members.
He further noted that many of the club’s members are entrepreneurs and business owners.
In this regard, he said the state government is currently opening up opportunities through the development of new industrial parks in Kota Belud, Kudat and Kimanis, as well as expanding industrial areas in Lahad Datu.
He added that the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) is also implementing several initiatives, including interim measures to address congestion at Sepanggar Container Port, as well as the provision of SME-UP entrepreneur grants this year.
“May this club continue to grow through various initiatives and remain a strategic partner of the government in delivering community programmes,” he said.
