KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET), Datuk Ewon Benedick, paid a working visit to SBH Kibing New Solar Energy at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), Sepanggar, to review the company’s operations, performance and expansion progress.
During the visit, he was briefed on the company’s operations, current achievements and future plans. Kibing is among Sabah’s major industrial investments.
“I am proud of Kibing’s achievements and the initiatives they have implemented, including employing more than 84 per cent local Sabahans and their continued efforts to further increase this percentage in the future,” he said.
Ewon also commended the company’s implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes for the community, in addition to its contribution to the state’s economic development.
At the same time, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing congestion issues at Sepanggar Port, which affect not only Kibing but also other industrial players in Sabah.
“I take this matter seriously and assure that proactive measures will be taken, involving all stakeholders, to ensure effective solutions,” he said.
Ewon added that strengthening the logistics ecosystem and port infrastructure is crucial to supporting industrial growth and attracting more high-quality investments to Sabah.
