KOTA BELUD: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick presented a donation of RM255,000 from the minister's special allocation to nine villages in the Kadamaian area.

Ewon, who is also the State Assemblyman for Kadamaian, said the allocation was channeled through the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) associations and bodies.

"This contribution is to assist the JKKK in managing village development and to help associations carry out their community activities.

"I hope this donation can help alleviate the financial burden of the JKKK bodies and associations to implement programmes and activities that have been planned for the benefit of the village residents," he said.

He said this after presenting the donation at the Kadamaian Assemblyman Service Office here yesterday.

The recipients of the donations are the Nahaba Tegudon Women's Residents' Association receiving RM5,000, the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) of SMK Narinang receiving RM50,000, and the Kiau Village Sports and Recreation Club receiving RM15,000.

The Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) of Kg.Lahanas, Kg.Taginambur Jaya, and Kg.Pinasang Tamu Darat each received a donation of RM50,000.

The recipients expressed their gratitude for Ewon's concern for the needs of the village residents.

Alexander Saibun, representing the Kiau Village Sports and Recreation Club, also expressed thanks to Ewon for the RM15,000 donation to the club.

"We will use this donation for the Ulu Kadamaian Run program, and five percent of the donation will be allocated to GOMPITO for the conservation of the Kg.Kiau forest," he said.

Jakunis Gindua, representing the Nahaba Tegudon Women's Residents' Association, stated that they would use the donation to purchase special kitchen equipment for the members of the association to support their small businesses.

Torida Saragon, representing the Women's Care Association of Kota Belud, also expressed gratitude to Ewon for the donation.

"We will use this donation for the welfare activities of the association, such as providing food baskets to those in need, including fire victims, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and elderly residents, not only in Kampung Piasau but throughout the Kadamaian area," she said.

Muneh Sikin, representing USTO, mentioned that the donation would fund the construction of the association's shop in Pekan Kota Belud.

"This shop is built to provide a space for entrepreneurs to market or promote their handicraft products," he said.

Representatives of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kg.Taginambur Jaya, John Sindong, and the representative of Kg.Pinasang Tamu Darat, Gison Yasik, said that the donation is very meaningful to help build the village hall kitchen and to repair the community hall.
