KENINGAU : A previously potholed and slippery farm access road in Kampung Toboh Baru has now been fully upgraded with concrete surfacing, thanks to a special allocation from the State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Liawan, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman.
The road serves as a vital daily route for local farmers and smallholders in the village and surrounding areas, allowing them to transport their agricultural produce such as paddy, rubber, and vegetables to nearby towns.
Previously, the road’s poor condition posed a significant challenge, especially during the rainy season, when it would become muddy and dangerous to navigate.

The long-standing issue has finally been resolved quietly, with a clear purpose in mind, that is, to provide essential infrastructure for rural communities.
“This road is very important to us villagers. Now we feel safer and it's much easier to bring our produce out to the main road. Thank you, Datuk Annuar, for your genuine concern,” said a local paddy farmer known only by the Dusun Liwan nickname Paganakan (meaning ‘lineage’), Odu Wangkoi.
In a brief statement, Annuar affirmed that the road improvement is part of his ongoing duty as an elected representative, not just a seasonal promise.
“This is the people’s economic lifeline. This road belongs to them. When we make it easier, their livelihood becomes easier too,” he said.
The upgrade reflects his firm commitment to ensuring a Managed Liawan, Progressive Liawan, particularly in strengthening the rural agricultural sector, which remains the backbone of village economies.
No spotlight, no grand stage, just quiet, diligent work that truly resonates with the people.
