KENINGAU: The participation of the 12TKB MSSD Keningau hockey contingent in the 2025 Sabah Schools Sports Council (MSSS) Championship received a welcome boost through a financial contribution.

The donation was provided by Bingkor State Assemblyman, Datuk Robert Tawik, and was presented on his behalf by Mr Zaki Zakaria, Community Supervisor of the Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) for Bingkor.

The contingent was represented by Ms Noorhayati Abd Hadi, Co-curricular Teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pasir Putih Keningau.

A brief handover ceremony took place at the UPPM Bingkor Office.

According to Zaki, the contribution not only provides encouragement but also reflects Robert’s concern and support for students’ active involvement in sports, particularly at the school level.

He remarked that the MSSS Championship, set to take place at the Likas Sports Complex in Kota Kinabalu this August, should be viewed as an important platform to discover and develop sporting talents among rural youth.

“Datuk Robert firmly believes that sports foster discipline, teamwork, and identity, core values essential to personal development. He remains committed to ensuring that the talents of Bingkor’s young people are not left behind,” he said.
