KENINGAU: Victims of a house fire in Kampung Ritting, Apin-Apin, Keningau received immediate assistance in the form of financial aid and food baskets.
The aid was from Bingkor State Assemblyman and Assistant Minister of Works Sabah, Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin.
It was delivered on his behalf by the Community Development Leader (PPM) Bingkor, Junior Fred Vincent Marukau
He was accompanied by the Apin-Apin Sub-District Development Officer, Dennis Juakim, and staff from the Bingkor Assemblyman's Office.
According to Junior, the visit was not only to hand over the assistance, but also aimed at offering moral support and showing concern for the plight faced by the victim, Harry Johny, and his family.
“Datuk Robert is deeply sympathetic to the incident that has befallen this family and hopes they are granted resilience and strength in facing this adversity,” he said.
In a message conveyed through his representative, Robert also expressed his sympathy to the family and assured them that his office will continue to assist in any way possible.
“We will not let the people face hardship alone. This step is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the welfare of the Bingkor community, especially in times of crisis,” he added.
The recent fire destroyed the home of Harry and his family, leaving them without shelter. The presence of the assemblyman and local leaders demonstrated a strong sense of solidarity and social responsibility towards the grassroots community.
