Hash Club’s Baiyun Mountain Expedition Strengthens Cultural Exchange and Camaraderie

SANDAKAN:The Sandakan Hash House Harriers (SHHH) marked a historic milestone last Tuesday by venturing beyond national borders for its regular weekly hike for the very first time. The club organised an overseas expedition to Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou, China.
This hike, numbered 3095, was led by the club’s President (GM),
Chang Wing Ming, who guided a group of 40 members through this significant journey amidst the scenic landscapes of Baiyun Mountain.
After gathering for lunch and a brief rest at the foot of the mountain, members set off enthusiastically on their trek. Covering approximately 11 kilometres, the hike was completed in two hours, concluding successfully at 5pm.

Throughout the walk, participants enjoyed lush greenery and breathtaking vistas, benefitting physically whilst also experiencing a sense of relaxation and strengthened camaraderie.
Following the hike, all members travelled by coach to Shenzhen Xin Bao Cheng Seafood Restaurant (On On) for dinner.
An evaluation and sharing session was also held that evening, during which members reflected on the hike, exchanged insights, and fostered a warm, engaging atmosphere.
The day concluded on a high note, with everyone returning in good spirits.
The primary aim of this overseas expedition were to learn from local hiking customs, broaden perspectives, and enhance fellowship among members.
The event successfully reinforced team spirit and organisational cohesion, making it a truly meaningful and memorable experience.
