KOTA  KINABALU:  The Head of State Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Musa Aman has been officially invited to attend the 30th Regatta Lepa 2025 to be held in Semporna.


Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Christina Liew paid a courtesy call to invite and brief Tun Musa on the event.


Liew, who is also Chairman of the Main Organising Committee of the Regatta Lepa 2025 Celebration, said this annual water festival will begin on June 14, culminating in a procession of decorated "lepa" boats on June 29.


She added that the highlights of the event include the "Ratu Lepa 2025" Competition and Traditional Lepa Competition. 


The Governor is expected to witness the colourful procession on the morning of June 29 at Dataran Lepa, and officiate at the closing ceremony of Regatta Lepa 2025 in the evening at Padang Bandar Semporna.


Among those present at the courtesy call were the Secretary of the Main Organising Committee Datuk Josie Lai, who is also the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment (KePKAS), Deputy Permanent Secretary II Alesia Sion, and Semporna District Officer Alexander Liew.
