KOTA KINABALU: Hilton has strengthened its presence in East Malaysia with the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran, marking the brand’s debut in Tuaran and further expanding its portfolio in East Malaysia.
Located along the Tuaran coastline near mangrove wetlands, the hotel offers travellers a modern stay with convenient access to Sabah’s natural attractions, while reinforcing Hilton’s regional portfolio that includes Hilton Kota Kinabalu and Hilton Kuching.
Hilton Area Vice President and Regional Head of South East Asia, Alexandra Murray, said Sabah remains a preferred destination for travellers seeking nature and tranquillity.

“Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran offers a refreshingly uncomplicated beachfront retreat where families and travelers can switch off, recharge and enjoy a stay defined by welcoming comforts, dependable service and an approachable sense of hospitality,” she said in a statement on Friday.
Situated about 30 minutes from Kota Kinabalu city centre and slightly over an hour from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, the hotel provides access to key attractions such as Kinabalu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Linangkit Cultural Village.
The property features 167 guestrooms, including king and twin options, as well as family-friendly and accessible categories, all designed with ergonomic workspaces to cater to both leisure and business travellers.
Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with a children’s wet playground, a 24-hour fitness centre, self-service laundry, and complimentary Wi-Fi and parking.
Dining is centred around Together & Co., an all-day restaurant and bar offering a mix of Western and Malaysian cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, alongside an open-air upper deck bar overlooking the coastline.
For meetings and events, the hotel provides a 164-square-metre multi-purpose hall accommodating up to 80 guests, suitable for corporate functions and social gatherings.
Hilton Regional Head, Focused Service Brands, Asia Pacific, Andrew Ling, said the new hotel reflects evolving traveller preferences for comfortable and approachable stays.
“By combining thoughtful amenities with a unique beachside setting, guests can look forward to memorable experiences inspired by Sabah’s natural beauty, all delivered with the reliable hospitality Hilton Garden Inn is known for,” he said.
