KUNDASANG: Increase in state revenue collections has enabled the implementation of more development projects, in addition to the provision of various forms of assistance for the people.

Deputy Chief Minister and Kundasang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, made the remarks while attending a community engagement programme at the Kg. Pinausok Mini Hall here, yesterday.

During the event, Dr Joachim delivered a message and outlined various government initiatives, including development plans for the area. He said this approach allows local residents, including youth, to engage directly with him.

“This programme also serves to explain the Government’s plans, including efforts to improve public facilities in this area,” he said, expressing gratitude for the strong support shown by the people of Pinausok.

He emphasised that such support would be reciprocated through the implementation of various development projects in the village. Among the feedback received from residents were requests for the improvement of social amenities and the upgrading of village roads.

“Therefore, continued public support for the current Government is crucial to ensure that all planned initiatives can be carried out,” said Dr Joachim, who also serves as Minister of Local Government and Housing.

In a separate programme, he also visited Kg. Perancangan and Kg. Turuntungon. Activities held there included the presentation of two canopies to local traders in Kg. Perancangan, distribution of vegetables from the Kundasang Highlands, and the official opening of a new bridge in Kg. Turuntungon.

Meanwhile, Dr Joachim strongly denied allegations made by certain parties accusing him of accepting bribes.

“The allegation is completely baseless. Let the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) carry out its investigation. If false accusations continue, I will not hesitate to take legal action,” he asserted.

Also present at the event were Dr Joachim’s Political Secretary Yubidi Gompoyo; Kundasang State Constituency District Chief OKK Dominic Ghanie; PBS Youth Chief for Kundasang cum Deputy Chief Minister’s Public Relations Secretary Khairul Kalimin; PBS Women’s Chief and Native Chief (KAN) for Kundasang Aini Tampig; representatives of the Native Chiefs (WKAN), local community leaders, and staff from the Kundasang UPPM (Leadership and Community Development Unit).
