Invest Sabah Boosts Governance and Focuses on Investment Growth

KOTA KINABALU: Invest Sabah Berhad (ISB) has announced the successful completion of an extensive internal governance review, aimed at enhancing its administrative and operational procedures.
The review, carried out by the Sabah State Internal Audit Department, has been submitted to the Chief Minister, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Transport .
In a statement, Datuk Roger Chin, the Chairman of Invest Sabah, affirmed the organisation’s commitment to good governance.
“This review underscores our dedication to continuous improvement and transparency,” he said.
“We have accepted the recommendations and are actively implementing measures to further strengthen our organisation’s accountability and operational effectiveness.”
The review forms part of the State’s broader initiative to ensure that key institutions adhere to recognised corporate governance standards.
It also provides constructive suggestions for improving documentation processes and internal management practices.
Roger expressed appreciation for the contributions of previous leadership, recognising their role in establishing Invest Sabah as the State’s primary investment promotion agency.
He highlighted that the current enhancements build on this solid foundation to reinforce governance and operational efficiency.
Looking ahead, Invest Sabah is entering a new chapter of strategic renewal under fresh leadership.
A new Chairman and a revitalised Board of Directors have been appointed, alongside Kevin Ukang as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer. Ukang’s extensive experience in investment promotion and economic development is expected to further strengthen Sabah’s investment ecosystem.
Under the leadership of the Chairman, Board, and CEO, Invest Sabah aims to intensify its efforts as Sabah’s one-stop investment facilitation centre.
The organisation will prioritise proactive investment promotion, investor facilitation, and adherence to governance best practices to support the State’s economic growth and development.
Roger reaffirmed Invest Sabah’s dedication to serving the State with professionalism, transparency, and accountability, working closely with stakeholders to attract quality investments and generate sustainable economic opportunities for Sabah.
