Japanese Consul-General pay courtesy call to CM

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor received a farewell courtesy call from the Head of the Consular Office of Japan for Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan, Consul-General Yamashita Yoshito, at his office in Menara Kinabalu here on Tuesday.

The visit marked the conclusion of Mr. Yamashita’s two-and-a-half-year tenure in Sabah, which ends in March.

He was accompanied by his successor, . Nakasuji Hisaki. At the meeting, both parties discussed bilateral relations between Sabah and Japan, focusing on strategic cooperation in investment, tourism, and economic development.

The Chief Minister thanked . Yamashita for his role in fostering friendship and cooperation between Sabah and Japan during tenure in the state.

He also hoped that the positive relationship between Sabah and Japan would continue for mutual benefit, especially in efforts to attract more Japanese investors and tourists to Sabah.
