JMUU enhances religious education classes

19 August 2024

KOTA KINABALU: The Madani Ulama and Umara Tour Programme (JMUU) helps to further enhance religious education classes, especially in mosques and suraus in this state.

The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor said the JMUU Programme should be used as a means of introduction and unification for all religious teachers in the state.

"Indeed, the work of propagating and educating the community is not an easy task. At all times, teachers and preachers will face various challenges and difficulties. Therefore, it is hoped that this programme can provide motivation and a fresh injection of spirit to all those present.

"To ensure that the delivery of religious teachers in this state meets standards, all religious teachers must also obtain teaching licenses issued by the Sabah Islamic Religious Council.

"This method is implemented to ensure that deviant agendas can be controlled and to maintain harmony among the various communities in the state, protecting them from negative influences," he said at the opening ceremony of the Madani Ulama and Umara Tour Program (JMUU) for the State of Sabah 2024, held here today.

His speech was delivered by the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif.

The Chief Minister also urged all stakeholders to collaborate in fostering a harmonious environment within the community, with a particular emphasis on instilling positive values in youth.

"Indeed, the challenges in facing the waves of change that are sweeping through the ummah today are immense.

Therefore, the importance of the roles of scholars and leaders in ensuring the well-being and harmony of society, showing concern for the interests of all layers of the population regardless of background, is crucial in ensuring that political stability, economic prosperity, and unity can be achieved.

It is a responsibility for every religious teacher in this state to understand, embody, and passionately strive to educate the community to remain knowledgeable in religious teachings so that the daily practices of the community are guided by Islamic law," he said.
