KOTA KINABALU: Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang districts will no longer be under one district starting tomorrow (June 7).

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the decision was made after detecting large number of Covid-19 cases in the three districts.

"The cumulative total of Covid-19 cases in these three districts have hit 70 today.

"As an effort to restrict unnecessary movement, the public will no longer be allowed to cross these districts freely except for those working in essential services and essential goods," he said in a statement today.

"Starting tomorrow, the police will carry out strict inspections involving these three districts," Masidi added.
