SANDAKAN: Chong Thien Ming, Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), led a team of party leaders and volunteers to donate essential supplies to fire victims at Kampung Bahagia's distribution centre, highlighting community unity in crisis.
Accompanied by Sandakan division chairmen, Chong handed over towels, sarongs, shampoo, shower cream, instant cup noodles, toothpaste, and prayer mats to meet the families' immediate needs.
Around 20 LDP members, including women's and youth wing representatives, joined the distribution efforts.

Chong thanked LDP Supreme Council members and supporters for their generous donations, which funded the purchases.
Engaging with victims, he learned many are still seeking temporary housing, while children remain out of school after losing belongings in the blaze.
He praised the government's rapid response to welfare needs and celebrated Sabahans' enduring spirit of solidarity, with contributions flowing steadily.
"This reflects our community's compassion and unity in disasters," Chong said, calling for sustained public commitment to humanitarian aid.
