LPP Alumni hold gathering to strengthen bond

KOTA KINABALU: A four-day programme dubbed Kembara Agro Madani Alumni Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) Sabah kicked off with a celebration of participants with a reception at The Promenade hotel here, yesterday.
The Sabah Zone Adventure Programme, led by former Director General of LPP, Dato Mohd Salim Taha, who also serves as the Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory LPP Alumni Association, started on July 28 and would end July 31, 2024, with the participation of 17 LPP Alumni.
The primary objective of the programme was to enhance camaraderie among members of the LPP Alumni Association nationwide.
Mohd Salim highlighted that apart from bolstering the central alumni fund for beneficial programmes, the initiative provided a platform for engaging with agricultural leaders, farmers, entrepreneurs, and alumni members during the visits to PPK Kinabalu Vegetable Project, DESA Dairy Farm, PPK Kota Marudu, and Kudat.
Salim, also the Deputy Chairman of LPP Malaysia Alumni, disclosed the association's intention to raise public funds to materialize the construction of the LPP Alumni Guesthouse building in Kuala Lumpur. He emphasized that the establishment of this building would facilitate the organization of various activities for former LPP officers, fostering the sharing of experiences to advance Agro Civilization development in the country.
Norlizah Mohamad, Former Deputy Director General of LPP Malaysia from Melaka Alumni, said that the travel programme could strengthen bonds among LPP alumni nationwide and expressed optimism for the success and benefits of agro development projects undertaken by LPP through PPN and PPK.
Meanwhile, Milatushamshi Iman Nawawi, Former Deputy Director General of LPP Malaysia from Alumni WP Kuala Lumpur, conveyed gratitude to the people of Sabah for appointing a Sabahan as Director General of LPP Malaysia.
Sunoto Yahmin and Salleh Kabul, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of LPP Sabah Alumni, warmly welcomed the Malaysian LPP Alumni group to Sabah, expressing hopes for continued close ties between LPP alumni from the peninsula and Sabah, fostering lasting memories following their visit to the state of Sabah.
PPN Sabah under the leadership of its chairman Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah also presented donations to LPP Malaysia Alumni and Sabah LPP Alumni.
During the event, they were also entertained with singing performances and accorded gifts in form of Tenom Coffee.
Also present during the were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Ruslan Muharam, Former Deputy Director General of LPP Malaysia Datuk Kamarul Badri Mat ALi and Datin Kailah, first chairman of Sabah PPN, Cyril P. Yansalang, Deputy Director of Sabah LPP, Jafrin @ Julius Kaingud, Chairman Sabah LPP Alumni, Sunato Yahmin, Sabah PPN General Manager, Ruddy Hasmawie Mohamad, Sabah State Trust Deputy Chairman Hashim Diris, Sabah LPP Alumni Deputy Chairman, Salleh Kabul, Sabah LPP Former Director Anita Misuari and NAFAS Regional Manager Sabah Melvin Erwin J Lojikim.
