KUALA LUMPUR: The Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) has announced that submissions are now open for the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards (MCIEA) 2026, with entries closing on 30 April 2026.
As one of the most prestigious awards in Malaysia’s construction sector, MCIEA recognises organisations and individuals who do more than just construct, they elevate industry standards through excellence, innovation, and tangible impact.
More than just an accolade, MCIEA serves as a platform for shaping the future of the industry.
Since its inception in 2000, the awards have become a benchmark guiding the direction of Malaysia’s construction landscape — from iconic projects to pioneering individuals driving progress.
MCIEA 2026 presents a total of 18 awards divided into three main categories. The Contractor Awards include the Best Contractor Awards, which are categorised from G1 to G6, along with the prestigious Builder of the Year Award (G7), the Excellence in Facilities Management Award, and the International Achievement Award.
The Project Awards recognise outstanding projects in both building and infrastructure sectors, with distinctions for small, medium, and large-scale developments.
In addition, the Individual Awards celebrate exceptional professionals in the industry, including the Outstanding Young Contractor Award, the Changemaker Award, and the Prominent Player Award.
For this year’s edition, CIDB is introducing three new award categories to broaden recognition opportunities:
-Excellence in Facilities Management Award
This award emphasises the vital role of facility management within the construction lifecycle. It honours contractor companies that demonstrate quality, innovation, and sustainability in facility management practices.
-Changemaker Award
This accolade celebrates individuals who introduce meaningful and impactful change within the industry. Open to professionals from the public and private sectors, academia, or research, it recognises contributions based on their impact, regardless of rank, title, or influence.
-Outstanding Young Contractor Award
Targeted at contractors under the age of 40, this award recognises leadership, professionalism, and exceptional achievements. Its introduction reflects CIDB’s commitment to fostering a new generation of competitive and innovative contractors, based on their performance in managing companies and projects.
The judging panel includes industry experts, representatives from the public sector, and professional bodies, ensuring a fair, transparent, and high-integrity evaluation process. All assessments are audited by a certified audit firm.
CIDB invites contractors, developers, consultants, organisations, and individuals within the construction industry to participate in MCIEA 2026. Nominations can be submitted online via mciea.my until 30 April 2026
