KOTA KINABALU: The Momogun National Congress (MNC) has joined widespread calls for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to carry out an immediate and thorough investigation into a viral video containing racially offensive material and a distortion of the historical significance of the Batu Sumpah Keningau.

The video, which targets the Kadazan, Dusun, Murut and Rungus communities, has been condemned for undermining the dignity of Sabah’s indigenous peoples and misrepresenting the Batu Sumpah—a sacred symbol of unity, autonomy, and the foundational rights of Sabahans within the Malaysian Federation.

“The Batu Sumpah is not merely a commemorative monument. It embodies solemn promises made by Momogun leaders to safeguard the cultural, religious and political rights of our people. Any attempt to distort its meaning is a direct attack on our shared history and identity,” the MNC Secretariat said in a statement.

The Congress urged MCMC to identify those responsible for producing and disseminating the video, ensure its removal from all digital platforms including WhatsApp, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, and enforce stricter measures to curb the spread of racially provocative and historically misleading content.

MNC reaffirmed its commitment to defending the dignity and rights of all indigenous communities in Sabah, stressing that it would not tolerate racial incitement, historical distortion or divisive rhetoric that threatens Malaysia’s multicultural harmony.
