KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) Sabah has called on Sabahan to vote in the 15th General Election (GE15) for sake of the nation future.

MUDA Sabah Chairman Amos Thien made the call after Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri announced the dissolution of parliament in giving nation'sway to the 15th General Election (GE15), yesterday.

“The public is well aware of irresponsible parties who presumably wanted to avoid justice in court and are possibly afraid of being thrown in jail, pressuring the Prime Minister to dissolve parliament when the people are currently preparing for the monsoon season.

“Average Malaysian voice their anger and yet the nation has no choice but to face these greedy politicians in the election field.

“I call on Sabahan to vote because each one of your votes is valuable in determining the future of the country, state, and future generation,” he said in a statement.

Amos stated that, Istana Negara had also issued a public statement in which Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong was disappointed with the political situation in the country.

He said, there is understandably an air of distrust and apathy in political leaders, following what happened after the 14th General Election.

“But the passing of the Anti-Hopping Law recently should inspire some confidence among voters. Elected representatives should not be able to switch parties as easily as before, after the upcoming general election.

“As the new voters, there is no need to register anymore following the Undi-18 amendment. Now, all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above are automatically registered as voters. To the new voters, welcome to the democracy arena.

“Cast your vote well and vote for the candidate who understands your problems, aspirations, and ambitions. Let's paint and colour the future of Malaysia and Sabah together,” he said.
