KOTA KINABALU: The music video "Kita Jaga Sabah" is not merely a work of art, but a manifestation of the heartfelt voices, love, and commitment of all Sabahans to protect this state, said Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor. He stated that the official launch of the music video serves as proof that Sabah’s talented youth can produce extraordinary works that not only unify communities but also inspire a spirit of solidarity.

“When we say Kita Jaga Sabah, it is not just a slogan. It is a collective call that, regardless of race, religion, or status, we all have a responsibility to safeguard our state, its security, unity, and development,” he said during the Media Premiere and Launch of the Kita Jaga Sabah music video at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Thursday.

Hajiji also expressed his appreciation to producer Farish Aziz, who successfully brought together some of the state’s prominent talents, including Stacy, Elica Paujin, Feroq, Dabra Sia, Meba, Anip, and Nuvel, alongside songwriter Anas Amdan. He highlighted that this collaboration of local singers and creative minds demonstrates that art can unite Sabahans through messages that touch the heart.

According to him, art and culture are among the most effective mediums for connecting communities, especially youth, as they enable young people to channel their aspirations and hopes positively.

“This music video clearly shows that Sabah’s youth are not only talented but also big-hearted, they want the state to progress, they want to see change, and they want to contribute,” he said.

Hajiji also commended the organisation of the Tamu Suara 360 programme by the Sabah Youth Council, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which provides young people with a platform to voice their views on the future of the state. He congratulated Sabah Youth Council President Abqaree Abekan and his team for their dedicated efforts in organising this platform.

“Our young people are not only aware but also genuinely care about education, employment opportunities, economic development, and the future of this state. This is the spirit of concern we want to nurture among the younger generation,” he added.

Hajiji emphasised that building a prosperous and competitive Sabah is not an easy task, but it requires sacrifice and cooperation from all parties. Therefore, he assured that the state government will continue to support initiatives aimed at empowering youth, whether in arts, culture, sports, or entrepreneurship.

“With the spirit of Kita Jaga Sabah, I believe we can create a state that is not only economically advanced but also rich in culture, harmonious in unity, and inclusive for all citizens,” he said.

He also called on Sabahans, particularly the youth, to continue embodying the spirit of Kita Jaga Sabah as a foundation for building the state.

“We are all guardians of Sabah, leaders, youth, village communities, and artists. If we move forward together, God willing, we can elevate this state to even greater heights of success,” he concluded.
