SANDAKAN: Musketeers Football Academy has reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by organising the Program Jalinan Kasih in Kg Tanjung Aru, distributing 100 food baskets to local residents.
The programme brought together approximately 150 participants, including 100 aid recipients, academy trainees, parents and members of the coaching team. The event was officiated by the President of Musketeers Football Academy, Hardy Pudar.
Also in attendance were Anzari Daud, Community Programme Adviser; Haji Rusli Hasaan, Coaching Adviser; and Coach Arif Tumin, Head Coach of Musketeers Football Academy.

The academy worked closely with Masjid Nurul Iman, represented by its Chairman, Imam Jumat bin Mayasin. The opening prayer was delivered by Imam Haris Hj. Omar, while proceedings were compered by Imam Anuar.
The programme also received support from strategic partner ISMA Sandakan. A talk delivered by Mahadir Amboala (ISMA) highlighted the importance of character development and the vital role of the community in nurturing the younger generation.
Appreciation was likewise extended to MYDIN Sandakan for its contribution of shopping vouchers, which played a significant part in the success of this welfare initiative.
In his address, Hardy emphasised that the programme reflects the academy’s philosophy, “More Than Just Football”. He noted that player development extends beyond technical ability on the pitch to include the cultivation of character, empathy and leadership through active community engagement.
He further stated that the academy will continue its outreach efforts by organising Community Football Clinics aimed at identifying and nurturing young talents who might otherwise be overlooked due to logistical challenges or limited exposure.
Hardy also shared the academy’s aspiration to foster a collaborative community ecosystem by supporting the promotion of local products through its network of parents, the wider football community and strategic partners, thereby creating a mutually beneficial relationship between the academy and local residents.
The Programme Jalinan Kasih serves not only as a platform for charitable outreach, but also as a meaningful initiative to strengthen ties between sporting institutions and the community, contributing towards the development of a generation that is physically capable, morally grounded and guided by strong humanitarian values.
