KUALA LUMPUR: myNEWS Holdings Berhad today announced the organisation-wide adoption of Lark as its core platform for productivity and collaboration. This move enhances connectivity across headquarters, store operations, franchise partners, and joint ventures spanning five retail brands: myNEWS, CU, SUPERVALUE, WHSmith, and Maru Coffee.
The rollout reflects a carefully considered approach to organisational change. Rather than imposing a top-down directive, adoption was seeded gradually, with early adopters and team leads developing meaningful Lark Base applications integrated into their workflows before expanding more broadly. Leadership and staff moved in unison, at a pace designed to foster both competence and confidence.
Lark’s role extends well beyond facilitating communication. As the operational coordination layer, it initiates and monitors automated workflows, ensures the right data reaches the right people, and manages task assignment, tracking, and completion, whether triggered manually or automatically.
Intelligent pipelines feed directly into Lark Base, transforming previously isolated manual processes into connected, continuously updated workflows. For example, a field cash reconciliation that once involved manual form-filling now completes instantly once two photographs are taken, computer vision reads both documents, extracts the relevant figures, and flags any discrepancies automatically. AI-driven parsing of supplier invoices received via email validates against purchase records and posts directly into the finance system. The entire process is faster, with fewer errors, and scales seamlessly as the business expands.
Since adopting Lark three months ago, myNEWS has shifted from being AI-aware to increasingly AI-powered. Around 20% of headquarters staff now work daily with AnyGen, Lark’s built-in AI assistant, handling drafting, research, and content generation that previously took hours. Adoption has become self-sustaining; as productivity improvements became evident, demand for access grew organically.
“Lark is not just a communication platform it’s the foundation enabling us to deploy AI coherently across the organisation. AnyGen gives everyone access to capabilities that used to require specialist roles. We’re able to scale smarter,” said Dang Tai Wen, Group CEO, myNEWS Holdings Berhad.
The next phase of deployment focuses on the frontline. Lark is being rolled out at store level across all five brands, providing managers with a unified platform for daily task management, shift handovers, compliance reporting, and direct communication with headquarters.
For franchise partners, Lark becomes the primary gateway to operational resources and institutional support. Standard operating procedures, training materials, brand standards, and daily guidance are migrating into a structured, searchable Wiki.
Dang Tai Wen added, “Lark is not where our technology journey ends. It’s the platform upon which we are building the next chapter, for our teams, franchise partners, and the stores they operate every day.”
