KENINGAU: A brand-new sepak takraw court in Kampung Takad Selatan, Apin-Apin, Bingkor, has officially opened, providing the local community, particularly the youth, with a dedicated space to engage in sports and physical activities.
The facility, fully completed and ready for use, was made possible through a special allocation by the State Assemblyman for Bingkor, Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin. The initiative forms part of his ongoing commitment to improving sports and recreational infrastructure in rural areas.
More than just a venue for competitive play, the new court is expected to foster a healthier lifestyle, encourage teamwork, and strengthen community bonds.
The development supports a broader vision of inclusive, people-centred progress in the region.
Speaking on the launch, Robert expressed his hope that the court would be actively utilised by young people in the area to nurture their interest in sports and build character through participation in healthy, structured activities.
"The youth are the backbone of our future. By investing in sports facilities like this, we’re investing in their growth, wellbeing, and potential," he said.
The completion of the project is seen as a testament to the Assemblyman’s grassroots-driven approach under the guiding principle of “Bingkor Progressing with the People" a development philosophy rooted in action, community needs, and long-term impact.
