Nominations Open for 2026 Women in Awards in Asia-pacific Energy Sector

HONG KONG: The Women Leaders in Energy Awards 2026, a flagship initiative of The Battery Show Asia, have officially opened for global nominations. These prestigious awards aim to recognise and celebrate women driving strategic innovation and sustainable development across the entire energy value chain. The initiative highlights female pioneers who are transforming the energy landscape through technological breakthroughs, innovative strategies, and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), women constitute only around 20% of the global energy workforce, with an even smaller proportion occupying senior management roles. Structural barriers continue to hinder women’s participation in energy innovation and decision-making at leadership levels. The Women Leaders in Energy Awards seek to address these disparities by amplifying the voices of women within the sector, establishing a global platform for female leaders, and fostering a paradigm shift towards greater gender inclusivity and innovation.

"Despite women playing a pivotal role in driving innovation, they remain significantly underrepresented in the energy sector, particularly in leadership positions," said Dan Ye, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Informa Markets Asia and Head of The Battery Show Asia. "These awards are more than mere recognition; they serve as a vital platform to elevate these voices, inspire future generations, and catalyse the industry’s transition towards genuine gender equality and collaborative innovation."

Under the theme "The Dawn Light, Illuminating the Future of Energy", the 2026 awards will feature two distinguished categories:

- Energy Changemaker Award: Recognising influential female leaders who are spearheading industry transformation and delivering substantial value to the energy sector.

- Energy Rising Star Award: Celebrating women leading the charge in energy innovation through pioneering technologies and innovative business models.

Nominations are now open to honour both established industry leaders and inspiring stories of resilience, ingenuity, and trailblazing achievements by women rewriting the narrative of energy transformation. Nomination Deadline will be on 30 January 2026, while Shortlist Announcement will be on 27 February 2026. The Awards Ceremony will be in 10 March 2026, during The Battery Show Asia 2026 Gala Dinner.
